SC governor seeks federal disaster recovery aid following Tropical Storm Debby

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has requested federal disaster aid for residents affected by Tropical Storm Debby, which struck on August 8, damaging over 900 homes in Charleston, Colleton, and Dorchester counties. The storm's impact has led to over $16 million in public property damage across a dozen counties. If approved, the aid would provide assistance for home repairs and temporary housing for displaced residents. Local governments and nonprofits in several counties may also qualify for federal aid to recover storm-related costs.
