Greenville leaders will consider changes to affordable housing policy

Greenville County's affordable housing policy, in place for nearly two years, aims to incentivize developers through tax breaks for creating affordable units. However, some leaders believe it needs revision to prevent misuse by developers already receiving other funding. Proposed changes include splitting the policy into two: one for workforce housing and another for lower-income housing, with adjusted tax break structures. The county council is set to vote on these amendments at the upcoming meeting.
